The Rock To Star In New Martin Scorsese Crime Drama
The Rock is in line for a huge new movie.
As reported by Deadline, The Rock is set to team up with Leonardo DiCaprio, Emily Blunt, and legendary director Martin Scorsese in a new crime drama that’s already got Hollywood buzzing.
The thumbnail description: Imagine Robert De Niro’s Jimmy the Gent character from Goodfellas, but as a ruthless Hawaiian crime boss, based on a real figure, who battled encroaching rivals for control of organized crime in Hawaii.
The movie, to be written by Nick Bilton, will see an aspiring crime boss trying to secure control of the island’s underworld. In the 1960s and 70s, the “formidable and charismatic” figure tried to build the most powerful criminal empire Hawaii had ever seen by going to war with rival factions and mainland corporations, all while trying to protect the island.
The as-yet-unnamed film will be based on a true untold story, described as “the last great American mob saga.”
The Rock will also act as a producer alongside his long-time business partner Dany Garcia and Scorsese, Blunt, DiCaprio, Bilton, Lisa Frechette, and Rick Yorn.
WWE Star Tips The Rock To Wrestle Again
Despite it once appearing to be a certainty, with every passing day, it seems less and less likely The Great One will be competing at WrestleMania. 41. It’s been reported that Rhodes will instead face John Cena, while Roman Reigns looks set to face Seth Rollins and CM Punk.
If those reports are correct, that leaves the former World Champion without a viable opponent should he wrestle at the event.
However, in a recent interview, Seth Rollins said he thinks The Rock will wrestle again, suggesting the star has a “couple more” matches left in him.
