The Rock Sparks Changes To WWE SmackDown
The Rock is coming to SmackDown.
On February 20 it was announced that The Rock will be making his WWE return on SmackDown. The appearance will be his first on WWE television since he cut an in-ring promo on the January 7 edition of NXT.
Although there’s been no official confirmation, The Great One is expected to announce that WrestleMania 42 will be held in New Orleans. However, he also mentioned he wants to “f*ck up a certain someone’s life,” leading to speculation he could have bigger, WrestleMania 41-sized plans.
In an interesting aside, Rock has previously stated he needs nine weeks to get into ring shape, and the event is nine weeks away.
The Rock Causes Scheduling Chaos
According to a new report by Wrestle Votes, two planned matches could now be off. Although yet to be confirmed, Naomi vs. Liv Morgan and Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest & Braun Strowman vs. Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga & Jacob Fatu could be scrapped.
Tonight’s SmackDown plans have been reworked following the announcement of The Rock’s appearance. Rumblings that both Naomi vs. Liv Morgan and the six-man tag featuring Cody, Priest & Strowman vs. Solo, Jacob & Tama Tonga are off. Drew McIntyre vs Jimmy Uso is still scheduled to take place.
Despite the changes, it’s believed that Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso is still expected to take place.
