The Rock Sends Message To WWE Star Amid 10-Month Absence

John Cena and The Rock at WWE Elimination Chamber

Despite not having appeared in WWE in over 10 months, The Rock has time and again touched base with his peers.

The Brahma Bull was last seen at the Elimination Chamber PLE, where he attacked Cody Rhodes with the help of John Cena, who had just turned heel, and Travis Scott.

He was expected to play a part at WrestleMania 41, but he never showed up.

While the fans cheered when Travis Scott’s music hit, it was in anticipation of The Final Boss accompanying him, but that never happened.

As fans awaited his return, it quickly became an afterthought as WWE continued with Cena’s heel turn storyline, before abruptly ending it before SummerSlam.

During his promo addressing his heel turn, Cena admitted to being swayed by The Rock’s false promises. Some critics and viewers hoped that Cena’s jab might spur the 53-year-old’s return, but again, nothing happened.

The Rock Sends Message To John Cena Amid Celebration

The Rock did once address snubbing WrestleMania 41, stating that he did not want to take the limelight away from John Cena, who became the world record 17-time champion at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Amid his absence, he continued promoting his movie The Smashing Machine, which is a biopic about former MMA star Mark Kerr.

Earlier this week, he earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance.

As expected, his wrestling family sent him congratulatory messages, one of which came from John Cena.

Cena shared a post on his Instagram account, celebrating his WrestleMania 28 rival.

The Rock commented on the post, sending love to the retiring superstar while labeling him the GOAT.

Meanwhile, John Cena will compete in his final wrestling match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, DC, against Gunther.
