The Rock’s Filming Schedule Open For WrestleMania Appearance

With speculation regarding The Rock’s role at WrestleMania 39 at an all-time high, a new report has suggested his normally-packed schedule is open for the event.

The WWE Universe has been hoping for The Rock to return to the ring for years now as it is felt that the megastar has never had a fitting send-off from the world of pro wrestling.

After making himself a household name in WWE, Dwayne Johnson moved on to find even greater success in an incredible Hollywood career that has seen him become the highest-paid actor in the world. In recent years, Johnson has had a hit sitcom based on his early life picked up by NBC, he led the ownership group that bought the XFL, and he created a now-thriving tequila brand to his name.

The Rock has made several appearances in WWE since he finished his full-time wrestling career, most notably his two matches against John Cena at WrestleManias 28 and 29. Following those blockbuster bouts, he has rarely returned to the ring, with one exception being at WrestleMania 32 when he defeated Erick Rowan in an impromptu match in a matter of seconds.

However, with WWE announcing that WrestleMania 39 will take place in Hollywood in 2023, many believe the event would be the perfect place for The Rock to have just “one more match.”

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez has now reported that the dream could become a reality as The Rock’s schedule for the beginning of 2023 is clear, suggesting that The People’s Champion will compete on The Grandest Stage Of Them All one more time.

His rumoured opponent for the event has long been the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. The bout would be a blockbuster affair on a par with the matches between Rock and Cena and it would be a chance for Reigns to prove his place as The Tribal Chief once and for all.
