The Rock Allegedly Plans To Replace Triple H With Ex-WWE Name
Triple H and The Rock’s relationship behind the scenes has been a topic of speculation for months.
Although The Game assumed the position of Chief Content Officer in 2022 following Vince McMahon’s initial retirement, he reportedly gained total control of Creative after the former chairman’s departure in 2024.
Meanwhile, The Rock returned to WWE last year to join TKO’s board of directors. He also returned to TV as The Final Boss.
However, the wrestling legend has been absent from the Stamford-based company since February. His final appearance came at Elimination Chamber, when he signaled John Cena to attack Cody Rhodes. The Rock has since remained silent about WWE programming, not promoting or mentioning the company in any form, amid speculations of growing tension with Triple H backstage.
Ex-WWE Employee Thinks The Rock Wants To Replace Triple H With His Right-Hand Man
On The Coach & Bro Show, former WWE Senior Director of International Television Tommy Carlucci and his co-host, former Interim RAW General Manager Jonathan Coachman, discussed the rumored power struggle between The Rock and Triple H behind the scenes in the Stamford-based company.
Carlucci predicted that The Final Boss has a long-term plan to replace The Game with his business partner & former WWE head writer Brian Gewirtz:
I think there is a long-term plan where he would love to do that and put his boy in there, Brian, big time because he knows he could trust him. He can get in his ear anytime and say, ‘Hey, man, let’s do this. Let’s do that.’ He’s a control freak, Coach, and he loves being on top. And that ego is large. Even though he doesn’t show it a lot, the ego is very large, as you know. [17:42 – 18:03]
