The Rock Not Happy With Cody Rhodes Reaction After WWE Raw

The Rock has turned up in NXT after his return to WWE on Raw’s Netflix premiere and he had plenty to say about his interaction with Cody Rhodes.

Prior to Raw’s Netflix debut, the last time WWE fans saw The Rock speak on TV was after WrestleMania 40 where he confronted the new Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and gave him a secret gift. This was seemingly setting up a future match between the two stars after weeks of bad blood heading into the showcase of the immortals. That thought was furthered when The Rock made a shock appearance at the end of Bad Blood staring down both Rhodes and Roman Reigns.

That’s why fans were surprised and many disappointed when The Rock returned to Raw and simply hugged Cody Rhodes before crediting him for carrying WWE on his back as champion over the last year. For many, that meant any match between the two men could be off, but who are you to doubt The Final Boss?

The Rock Has Plenty To Say On NXT

The Rock turned up in NXT at New Year’s Evil with plenty to say but before that, he was seen backstage with his daughter, NXT General Manager Ava, while she was in a heated conversation with Ethan Page. The Great One noted he’d heard what Page had done to Je’Von Evans after Page rocked his jaw and that payback would be a b*tch. The Rock told Ethan Page that if he needed anything then he could talk to him but while he’s The Final Boss, in NXT, Ava is The Final Boss.

That left The Rock to address the fans at the end of a packed night of action. He had Cody Rhodes on his mind and clearly had heard the reaction to his Raw segment as he noted people – apparently some of them in strip clubs -complained he was being too mean to Rhodes and now they’re complaining he’s being too nice to The American Nightmare. But it seems he might be cooking up a plan as he noted:

The Rock is the Final Boss thinking twenty steps ahead, so the best thing for them to do is to know their role, shut their mouths, and enjoy the ride that The Rock is taking them on.
