The Rock To Impact Future Creative Of NXT Star
Even while away from WWE television, The Rock remains The Final Boss.
The Rock made his most recent WWE appearance at NXT New Year’s Evil and took the opportunity to fire back at his critics.
After interacting with his daughter and General Manager Ava backstage in a segment with Ethan Page, Rock addressed fans in the ring to close the show. In a promo that had censors working overtime to cover the swearing, Rock hit back at the idea he’d been too nice to Cody Rhodes on Raw, ominously warning that the Final Boss is thinking 20 steps ahead.
The show was the first time he’d appeared on television alongside his daughter since she signed with the company in 2022. After initially appearing as a wrestler as part of Schism, Ava was named General Manager in January 2024.
The Rock’s Presence Will Be Felt In NXT
According to a new report from WrestleVotes Radio on SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, Ava is now set to be featured more prominently in NXT moving forward. This will include new merchandise and playing-up links to her legendary father and his “Final Boss” persona.
“Creative has begun putting plans in motion for NXT General Manager and, of course, real life daughter of the Rock, Ava, to be featured more prominently on TV, as well as have merchandise and character ties to her father, alluding to his final boss persona.
We are told plans could include her playing off the final boss character on TV as a way to raise her importance. Ava, from all accounts as well-liked and could have a big future with the company.”
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that several people within WWE were less than impressed with The Rock following his appearance at the end of Bad Blood. The frustration stemmed from the fact it was already known backstage that he wouldn’t be wrestling at WrestleMania, so popping up at the end of the show made little sense.
It had long been believed that Rock would wrestle Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, but plans changed several months ago.
