The Rock Hits Out At Cody Rhodes For Being Disrespectful

The Rock cuts a promo on WWE Raw

The Rock has hit out at Cody Rhodes for disrespecting his family.

‘The Great One’ sensationally delivered a brutal slap to Rhodes amidst chaotic scenes at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Press Conference, held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 8th February.

The controversial scene came after ‘The American Nightmare’ had declared his decision to battle Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40, despite both Rock and Reigns announcing their intentions to go head to head at WWE’s flagship Premium Live Event.

With Reigns and Rhodes exchanging words about their respective families’ heritage in the wrestling business, The Rock stepped forward to accuse Rhodes of being disrespectful to his blood, noting the shared lineage between he and Reigns.

‘The People’s Champion’ soon delivered a thunderous slap to Rhodes, causing an on-stage melee with both Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins having to be ushered off stage.

The Rock took to Instagram this week to explain his actions, reiterating his accusations of disrespect from Rhodes:

“I was born into this crazy world and I love every second of it.

It’s been decades since pro wrestling has been buzzing like this for WRESTLEMANIA and this has become rare air that we’re all breathing, and it’s very f*****g cool & exciting for us, as wrestlers, our company and most importantly – all our fans.

Your hero f****d around and he found out quick what happens when you talk about our family with disrespect.

Lines crossed and blurred – bring it.

We don’t toe the mark for no one.

Road to Wrestlemania begins…”
