The Rock Believes Former Champion Is WWE’s “Superman”
The Rock loved the main event of WrestleMania 41 Saturday and believes one of the former champions in the match is WWE’s “Superman.”
Paul Heyman was a massive factor in the WrestleMania 41 Saturday main event because he helped Seth Rollins beat Roman Reigns & CM Punk in a huge triple threat match. Heyman delivered a low blow to Punk, then he did the same to Reigns, which led to Rollins hitting The Stomp on his former buddy Reigns to secure the win.
The new alliance between Rollins and Heyman added another member to their group, as Bron Breakker helped them beat up Punk and Reigns on the Raw After WrestleMania as well.
One name who didn’t appear at WrestleMania 41 at all is the WWE legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Even though The Rock played a big part in John Cena turning heel on Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber, Rock stayed home for WrestleMania.
While The Rock may have gotten heat for starting home from WrestleMania, he told Pat McAfee on his Pat McAfee Show that he loved the WrestleMania 41 Saturday main event.
“First night’s main event, the finish of that main event, I loved it. I loved every second of it. I watched at home on my couch, and I was texting [McAfee] throughout the show and the main event, ‘Keep it going. This is amazing. Stay in that zone.’ When I was watching the first night main event, I know the finishes of what’s going to happen.
I know all the finishes, but I want to not know how they get there, especially if I’m watching from home. I watched how they got there and I loved it. I thought it was dramatic and exactly what it needed to be. Paul was raised in the business and loves the business.
His passion for the business goes way back and his intellect goes way back. He understands. He’s a big thinker and a long-game thinker. I loved how it all went down and how it came down to Seth and Paul, and what that is going to look like and how it unfolds. I loved every moment of that.”
The Rock Believes Seth Rollins Is WWE’s Superman
It was one year earlier in the main event of WrestleMania 40 Saturday when The Rock and Roman Reigns beat Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes in the main event. The Rock got the win over his team by pinning Rhodes in that match. As he continued talking about this year’s Saturday main event, Rock spoke about Roman’s performance while also praising Rollins as WWE’s Superman.
“Shout out to Roman, he came in incredible shape. Every year he’s dialing it in more and more. This idea of people calling him a part-timer really fuels the fire in him to show you, ‘I’m a lot of things, you want to call me part-timers, but the company is still on my back. Now, watch what I do.’
Seth always delivers. He’s our Superman. I love that guy. He’s just phenomenal and you can count on him around every corner. What I love about Seth is you can continue to see him grow. I love what those guys did on Saturday.”
The Rock also said he feels like Bron Breakker has “risen to the occasion,” and he’s happy to see the former Intercontinental Champion align with Heyman and Rollins.
