The Rock Names Surprising Choice As Toughest WWE Opponent

The Rock WWE

The Rock has faced the great and the good of WWE over his career but he had a surprising choice when it came to who his toughest opponent was.

The Rock is back in WWE and he looks to be on the side of his cousin Roman Reigns despite a hotly-rumoured match between the two men being in the works for years.

The People’s Champ has done it all in WWE in a career that has seen him share the ring with the likes of Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Terry Funk, Mick Foley, Triple H, Kurt Angle, and John Cena as well as countless other WWE Hall of Famers and legends.

The Rock Pokes Fun With Toughest Opponent Question

Taking on the mini mic for ESPN, The Rock answered some quickfire questions including naming who his toughest WWE opponent ever was. The Great One’s tongue was firmly in his cheek as he named perennial loser and The Rock’s first-ever opponent The Brooklyn Brawler.

Billed as Dwayne Johnson for the match, the star faced Brawler in a dark match before a taping of WWE Superstars in March 1996. Johnson had one more dark match for the company before embarking on a two month spell in the USWA where he was known as Flex Kavana.

He returned to WWE, making his on-screen debut at the 1996 Survivor Series as Rocky Maivia and the rest was history.

The new trailer for WrestleMania 40 has teased The Rock’s match at the showcase of the immortals as he could be set to do battle with two men he’s never shared the ring with before.
