The Rock Blasts Short-Sighted WWE Critics

The Rock

The Rock is always a step ahead.

At Elimination Chamber, John Cena completed the most remarkable heel turn seen in WWE for more than two decades.

By the time the show went off the air, Cena had won the men’s Elimination Chamber match, Cody Rhodes had told The Rock to go f*ck himself, and Cena had left Rhodes a bloody mess at the behest of The Great One.

The chaos came a little over a week after Rock told Rhodes he wanted to take his soul in a confusing promo on SmackDown. That appearance came after an equally baffling promo on Raw in January and a surprising moment at Bad Blood, where The Rock appeared at the end of the show and made a cut-throat gesture towards Rhodes, Reigns, and Jimmy Uso.

However, the Hollywood star has little time for those who don’t see his vision.

The Rock Always Had A Plan

During the Elimination Chamber post-show press conference, Rock took the opportunity to hit back at his critics, especially those who criticised his appearance at Bad Blood. The veteran claimed that despite what fans might have thought, his short cameo meant something, and it helped build towards Elimination Chamber.

“It meant something. I’m a long gamer. I like long gaming. I like creating with Paul [Levesque] and Brian Gewirtz and Maya Lasry, who is on my side of the team. I like creating with Paul and his team as well. We’re long gamers.

A lot thought Bad Blood, when I just did a small subtle thing, there was a lot of criticism, ‘Oh, it didn’t mean anything.’ It did. It’s okay. It’s okay if you’re not thinking about it now, but just trust me when I tell you, we are thinking about this stuff and long gaming this.

Same thing when we opened up with Netflix in LA when I came out at the Director of the Board and welcomed everybody and thanked Cody Rhodes for carrying the company. I gave him dap and a big hug.

I knew this night was coming. We are long gaming.”

According to a report from Fightful Select, The Rock is expected to be at WrestleMania 41, but that is “far from confirmed.” There’s also no word on what he would potentially be doing at the event.

The same report noted that Drew McIntyre was never planned to win the Elimination Chamber despite significant speculation to the contrary.
