The Rock Was Approached By Multiple Parties About Running For President

The Rock

There continues to be significant interest in The Rock running for President.

Back in 2021, a poll revealed that 46% of all adults in the United States would support The Great One should he decide to run for President.

The Hollywood megastar had previously hinted he could enter politics if it’s what people wanted, while he has been open about his support of now former President Barack Obama.

During an appearance on Trevor Noah’s What Now? podcast, The Rock was asked about the poll and his potential political aspirations. The former WWE Champion said he was honoured to receive that level of support, revealing he was approached by multiple political parties after the results hit the news.

“That was an interesting poll that happened and I was really moved by that,” Johnson said. “I was really blown away and I was really honored. I’ll share this little bit with you: at the end of the year in 2022, I got a visit from the parties asking me if I was going to run, and if I could run.”

The Rock Claims Politics “Has Never Been My Goal”

The WWE legend added that politics has never been his goal, and there’s a lot about it that he dislikes.

“It was a big deal, and it came out of the blue,” Johnson continued. “It was one after the other, and they brought up that poll, and they also brought up their own deep-dive research that would prove that should I ever go down that road [I’d be a real contender].

It was all very surreal because that’s never been my goal. My goal has never been to be in politics. As a matter of fact, there’s a lot about politics that I hate.”

Despite a huge amount of speculation, The Rock isn’t currently scheduled for WrestleMania 40, and WWE is planning for the event without him wrestling. The Hollywood star made his most recent WWE appearance on the September 15th episode of SmackDown, where he featured in the opening segment alongside Pat McAfee and Austin Theory.
