The Real Reason Major AEW Star Has Been Missing For Months
One major AEW star has been missing from the company for several months and now with many expecting their return, the reason for that absence has been revealed.
The Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments are taking centre stage in AEW for the summer with the prize even greater this year. The man and woman who win their respective tournaments will earn a world title shot at All In.
All 8 women have been revealed in their tournament but only 7 of the men have been in theirs with Jeff Jarrett set to face a wild card in the first round.
On Dynamite in Buffalo, The Young Bucks revealed that the wild card would be representing The Elite and he vowed that they’d win the tournament, win the title in Wembley Stadium and then The Elite would have total control of AEW.
Adam Page Returning To AEW?
Fightful Select has now followed up on the speculation that after The Young Bucks’ announcement, the wild card would be the man they suspended from The Elite, Hangman Adam Page.
Page has not been seen in AEW since Revolution where he was part of an AEW World Championship match involving Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland. Nothing has been revealed in terms of Page’s absence to this point but the report noted that he has been missing for “contractually obligated personal reasons.” It is also noted that AEW always knew Page would be ready to return in late June or early July and he has not been injured.
Given his history with both The Young Bucks and AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland who the winner of the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament would potentially face for the title at All In, all the signs seem to be pointing at Page being the wild card but until it happens nothing is final.
The Young Bucks are in for a tough night at Forbidden Door as The Elite was confirmed for a huge trios match that will see Kazuchika Okada come face-to-face with an old rival again.
