The New Day One Step Closer To Split After WWE Title Defeat
There’s trouble in paradise for The New Day as the popular and hugely successful tag team looked one step closer to a split on WWE Raw.
For months now, trouble has been brewing between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods in WWE. Karrion Kross and The Final Testament planted seeds of doubt in Woods’ head about his role in the team during their feud but now that The New Day has moved on, those seeds seem to have taken root.
Woods was unhappy that Kofi Kingston recruited Odyssey Jones to help them out but that partnership proved to be short-lived anyway as Odyssey Jones has apparently been fired by WWE.
Nevertheless, The New Day found themselves in the familiar position of challenging for tag team gold on Raw in Portland but Kingston and Woods had different ideas on how to go about it.
The New Day Missing Big E?
Xavier Woods approached Jey Uso, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley in the back before the match asking that The New Day be allowed to go it alone despite taking on The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Jd McDonagh with all the backup they might have. That trio agreed to keep out of things but Kofi Kingston had a plan.
The LWO ended up interfering in the bout but that couldn’t stop The Judgment Day as Balor and McDonagh retained their gold and Woods was more than upset.

After the bout, Woods took issue with the LWO before Kofi Kingston revealed he asked the group for help to combat the number’s game of The Judgment Day. Woods was incensed at the plan and that he hadn’t been told about it and asked why now all of a sudden the team needed help. Kingston then blurted out that they used to have Big E which only caused Xavier Woods to have more questions about his role in the team.
