The New Day Will Challenge For Gold At NXT Deadline
The New Day duo of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have their sights set on more gold after they revealed they will be competing at NXT Deadline.
On the 6th of December edition of NXT, Elton Prince and Kit Wilson of Pretty Deadly told their own version of the Christmas story, lamenting their lack of challengers for the NXT Tag Team Championship and declaring that 2023 will surely be their year.
That brought out Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day to issue their own challenge to the pair for the title at the upcoming Deadline premium live event. The match was made official meaning The New Day will have the chance to become only the second team to capture the NXT, Raw, and SmackDown Tag Team Championships after FTR.
The match sees a return to NXT for Xavier Woods who last competed on the brand in the summer of 2014. Kofi Kingston also had a handful of matches on the then-black and gold brand, the last coming in January 2014 where he defeated a man then known as Alexander Rusev.
