The Miz Feels He Deserves To Be On WWE Mount Rushmore For Particular Skill
The Miz thinks he’s on the WWE Mount Rushmore for at least one aspect of his career.
When The Miz faced rising star Je’Von Evans on the December 12th edition of WWE SmackDown, it was a matchup between the 45-year-old future Hall of Famer and a 21-year-old with a future as bright as anybody.
As noted by Michael Cole in his commentary, The Miz hasn’t won a singles match in 2025, and he also failed to beat Evans.
While Miz isn’t beating a lot of people in WWE these days, he is quick to remind everyone that he was the first two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion in company history and has held 21 different championships in his career, including the WWE Title twice.
Regarding his ability as a WWE superstar, it is The Miz’s gift of gab that truly sets him apart because, whether you like him or hate him, the man can talk. There have been recent wrestlers, like Rhea Ripley and AEW’s Kyle Fletcher, who have talked about The Miz’s influence on their careers.
In an interview with Unlikely’s Adrian Hernandez, The Miz spoke about receiving compliments from current wrestlers.
“So I have two different forms in my brain that goes through this stuff, right? One is like, wow, that’s incredible that I’ve made such an impact on superstars, on fans, on people. That’s amazing. Never in my wildest dreams did a kid from Parma, Ohio, ever think that I would have the success in WWE because I just didn’t believe it.”
The Miz Wants Respect, Especially For His Ability To Talk
As the discussion continued, The Miz spoke about how sometimes people mention his name and almost laugh when talking about his legacy. In Miz’s opinion, he thinks he deserves to be on WWE’s Mount Rushmore of the top four talkers in company history.
“It wasn’t there for me, and then, I took opportunity after opportunity after opportunity and just kept working at it and putting my blood, sweat and tears and doing everything I possibly could to get to where I am today, to get to people to say, ‘Wow, that was a major impact.’
What I don’t like is that people always do it with a, like, ‘I know this isn’t the popular name.’ Almost like a laugh. Everyone says my name and then they’ll be like, ‘Oh, really? Uh, huh. Eh. Interesting. Eh, really?’ And I literally go, ‘Really?…’ 20 years being in WWE, having every title there is to win.
I would put myself on a Mount Rushmore of one of the best talkers that WWE has ever had in the history of the company, if not the top 10, and to put the accolades that I’ve been able to put, and some people have to say, ‘I know this isn’t the popular answer, I know this isn’t…’ Or if it’s even the tongue and cheek type of answer, I don’t want that, don’t give me that.
Say my name and put respect on it when you say it, and say it with confidence and the fact that yeah, it’s that name, because it is that name, because he is that valuable, because he is that, you know what I mean?
So, those are the two sides that go in my brain. So, I could either give you the babyface answer, or the heel answer… But honestly, it always fills my heart when I hear people say, ‘Miz really helped me out,’ or, ‘Miz was a person that I looked to and I still look to to this day.’ So, it’s one of those type of things.”
Regarding John Cena’s retirement tour in 2025, The Miz said it was “upsetting” that he didn’t get to face Cena one more time, given how big their rivalry had been in the past.
