An update has been provided on when Naomi may return to the WWE ring with the company expressing confidence that the former Women’s Champion will return.

Naomi, whose real name is Trinity Fatu (she is married to WWE’s Jimmy Uso), walked out on WWE in May 2022 when Sasha Banks and herself were creatively frustrated about a lot of things, including their reign as the Women’s Tag Team Champions. They literally left the titles backstage and walked out.

Since Naomi and Banks walked out of WWE, there were many rumors about them possibly coming back. As most of you know by now, Sasha Banks decided to go on another path in her wrestling career as she debuted as Mercedes Mone at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4th. Her good friend Naomi flew all the way to Japan to support her and Bayley did too.

As for Naomi’s wrestling career, there was a report to start 2023 that said Naomi is “certainly returning” to WWE although there were no details as to when that might be.

It was reported by Fightful Select that Naomi’s contract was close to expiring when she walked out of WWE in May, but there was excitement about extending the deal with Naomi likely getting the “biggest money contract of her career.” It is also believed that Naomi maintained contact with WWE while she was away.

With the Bloodline Acknowledgement Ceremony coming next Monday on Raw with many members of the family in attendance to acknowledge Roman Reigns & The Bloodline, there is some speculation that Naomi could be part of it since she’s been married to The Bloodline’s Jimmy Uso since 2014.

The story from Fightful noted that “one WWE higher-up that we spoke to also claimed that there had been contact between the two sides and that they’re ‘confident’ Naomi will be in WWE again.” There was no timetable provided.

Since The Royal Rumble is coming on January 28th and Naomi had many memorable near-elimination spots in the past, that could be the perfect time to bring her back.

During her WWE career, Naomi was a two-time Smackdown Women’s Champion as well as a Women’s Tag Team Champion with Sasha Banks. She is 35 years old and known for being one of the best athletes in the women’s division while her “Feel The Glow” entrance is a reflection of her positive attitude.
