The Hardys Want To Wrestle Former WWE Rivals Again

The Hardys Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy

The Hardy brothers want to rekindle a rivalry that goes back over two decades.

Over the last three decades, The Hardy Boyz duo of Matt & Jeff Hardy have become one of the greatest tag team acts in pro wrestling. The brothers have also had exceptional singles careers, but when fans think of Matt and Jeff, they usually think of them together.

Through all the ups and downs, the Hardys are still going strong and performing at a high level. They proved it again when they defeated the NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom (Axiom & Nathan Frazer) at NXT Roadblock in New York City.

While appearing in WWE again has brought a sense of nostalgia, The Hardys are also the TNA Tag Team Champions and continue to be leaders in the company.

During the Hardys early years in WWE’s Attitude Era, they were linked with two other legendary tag teams: The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & D’Von Dudley) and Edge & Christian. Those three teams helped to create the Tables, Ladders & Chairs matches that have become iconic while also doing creative matches involving ladders and tables.

The duo of Edge & Christian are both actively wrestling in AEW, while Bubba Ray Dudley recently competed in NXT and wrestles occasionally. D-Von Dudley has also said he could compete again.

Matt Hardy Suggests The Dudleys Should Face The Hardys Again

In an interview with Tim Battle and Eli on the Battleground podcast. Matt Hardy put out the idea that perhaps The Dudleys could face off against The Hardys at least one more time.

“Please. I think we’re ready. Are you ready? Myself and Jeff, we’re 100% ready. We’re up every morning, we’re doing our ice baths, our cold plunges, we’re busting our ass, we’re working out, we’re trying to stay in tip-top shape, to be middle-aged men. We are ready.

We would love to face the middle-aged Dudleys. So as long as Bully and D-Von, they’re ready to rock and roll, we are ready at the drop of a dime. We’ll put the TNA titles up. Hell, maybe we’ll be the NXT champions. We’ll put the NXT titles up. Who knows? Why don’t they bring their old-school ECW titles? I’m sure they’ve got some replicas. Put those on the line.”

In today’s wrestling world, you never know what can happen and when, even one more match between The Hardys and the Dudleys.
