The Elite Alluded To On AEW Dynamite
For the first time since they were suspended for their part in a backstage fight, The Elite has been referenced on AEW television by Hangman Adam Page.
All Out saw CM Punk capture the AEW World Championship in the main event and The Elite team of The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega crowned the inaugural AEW Trios Champions. By the following Wednesday on Dynamite, all of that had changed.
CM Punk took issue with The Young Bucks, Hangman Adam Page, and former friend Colt Cabana at the post-All Out press conference. This seemingly led to a backstage altercation that saw The Bucks, Omega, Punk, and AEW producer Ace Steel all involved and subsequently suspended by the company and stripped of any titles.
No mention of any of the suspended stars has been made on AEW television but in Toronto on Dynamite, former AEW World Champion Adam Page made an allusion to his former Elite teammates. In a promo with Jon Moxley ahead of their clash for the AEW World Title, Page mentioned his best friends that he failed to win the Trios Titles with – The Dark Order – who Page says are slowly starting to disappear. Page also mentioned his “old friends” who are already gone.
The Dark Order has shrunk in size in recent months with Stu Grayson and Alan Angels both leaving AEW while Anna Jay abandoned the group in favour of a move to The Jericho Appreciation Society. Colt Cabana has barely been seen in AEW since CM Punk joined the company and it was speculation surrounding the reason why Cabana had been so absent that lit the powder keg for Punk’s All Out explosion.
