The ECW Legend Who Says WWE Superstar Reminds Them Of The Late Sid Vicious

ECW legend and current TNA star Tommy Dreamer drew comparisons between WWE Superstar CM Punk and the late Sid Vicious.

Speaking on “Busted Open Radio,” Dreamer highlighted the similarities in the controversies that have followed both wrestlers throughout their careers. Dreamer remarked:

I kind of have to compare him to, not the intensity or the promo skills, but at the time, he reminds me of what CM Punk was. Wherever CM Punk goes, he has this cloud of controversy as well.

This comparison emphasises the enigmatic presence both wrestlers have had in the industry, with their ability to consistently generate buzz and intrigue. Dreamer further elaborated on CM Punk’s unique appeal, noting:

He’s got the intangibles, the ‘it factors’, all those things, the look, he has this aura about him.

This description encapsulates Punk’s magnetic persona, which has consistently drawn attention and sparked debate among fans. Reflecting on Sid Vicious’s legacy, Dreamer recalled how Sid managed to blur the lines between hero and villain, becoming what the industry often refers to as a “tweener.” Dreamer explained:

Sid was really when he came back like that, he was the bad guy that you liked. When he dropped to the knee and he asked for adulation instead of the boos, the people would give him cheers.
