Teams Revealed For WWE NXT/TNA Showdown Matches
The battle lines have been drawn, and now WWE NXT and TNA know which stars will represent them when the two brands go to war.
TNA and WWE’s partnership has been in full effect for several months, but it seems it’s now hanging by a thread, on-screen at least. TNA stars expressed their unhappiness with WWE and took matters into their own hands when they invaded NXT, taking the fight to their rivals.
NXT General Manager Ava revealed that after lengthy discussions with the TNA Director of Authority, Santino Marella, two Survivor Series-style matches would take place on October 7th, pitting the two brands against each other.
TNA Relying On WWE Star
On the September 30th edition of NXT, Ava revealed that her top champions, Ricky Saints and Jacy Jayne, would captain their respective teams. Marella named Mike Santana as his men’s captain, but is taking a chance by naming TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan as his women’s captain, given that Jordan is contracted to WWE.
Conversely, TNA World Champion Trick Williams announced he’d be part of Team NXT. Myles Borne and Je’Von Evans are the final two members of that team. Mike Santana then confirmed that Frankie Kazarian, Leon Slater, and Moose would be joining him on Team TNA.

Jacy Jayne will be joined on Team NXT in the women’s match by Lola Vice, Sol Ruca, and Jaida Parker. Team TNA will see Cassie Lee, Jessie McKay, and Mara Sade join Kelani Jordan.
That crossover show will also see TNA star Mustafa Ali battling Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship. Ali was due to get a shot at that title once upon a time, but that match never happened due to Ali being released by WWE.
