Team AEW Complete For Blood & Guts
The Elite now know exactly who they will be facing in Blood & Guts as Team AEW was completed on the 250th edition of Dynamite.
On Dynamite in Des Moines, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland opened the show but was soon interrupted by The Elite. The Young Bucks made the challenge to the locker room for a Blood & Guts match and told Strickland they needed a fifth man and were willing to put their differences aside to recruit him for their team. Strickland gave that suggestion a firm no meaning The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry still needed a fifth man.
That fifth partner was revealed on the 10th of July edition of Dynamite after Swerve Strickland announced he was joining Mark Briscoe in Team AEW for the brutal match. Hangman Adam Page lost in the final of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament meaning he would not get an AEW World Title shot against Strickland at All In but determined to still get his hands on him, he told his former Elite teammates he’d join them, albeit reluctantly.
Now on the 250th edition of Dynamite, Team AEW is complete after a wild show.
Team AEW Gets 3 Former Champions
The Acclaimed’s Max Caster and Anthony Bowens have had their issues with The Young Bucks in recent weeks and they approached Mark Briscoe about joining Team AEW. Briscoe deferred that decision to Swerve Strickland who has had his own battles with The Acclaimed in the past. They put that behind them, however, and the former AEW Tag Team Champions were accepted into the team.
The show’s main event saw a champion vs. champion clash as Swerve Strickland took on Kazuchika Okada. The match ended in an all-out brawl with The Elite attacking Strickland to cause the DQ before Mark Briscoe and The Acclaimed tried to even the odds.
Descending from the rafters came Darby Allin in a homage to his former tag team partner Sting as he was confirmed as the fifth man on Team AEW as he took the fight to The Elite.
