Tatum Paxley Gets Her Revenge On NXT New Year’s Evil

NXT New Year’s Evil was off to a dramatic start this year as the scheduled championship match between Thea Hail and Blake Monroe was effectively called off.

Thea Hail was set to defend her NXT Women’s North American Championship in the opening match, but she fell victim to a brutal attack by Monroe, which left her unable to compete at the moment.

This threw the General Manager, Ava, for a loop, and she had to think on her feet to begin the night with the grudge match between teammates-turned-rivals, Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley.

This was a highly personal match between the two, as Izzi had cost Paxley her NXT Women’s Championship a few weeks ago at Gold Rush, and they had been at each other’s throats ever since.

They last met each other at Deadline last month, where Izzi won following some outside interference from the rest of The Culling. Following their involvement in the previous match, they were barred from ringside tonight, and it had a clear effect on the match.

A very hard-hitting match came to an end as Tatum Paxley hit Izzi with a 450 Splash from the top rope and followed it up with a Psycho Trap to seal the win for herself.
