Hulk Hogan famously appeared in the 1982 Hollywood flick Rocky III.

The film, starring Sylvester Stallone, was the third movie of the Rocky franchise. Hogan played the character of a wrestler named Thunderlips, whom Rocky fights in an exhibition match.

The Hulkster’s cameo gained significance after he entered the World Wrestling Federation a year later.

Stallone, meanwhile, had maintained a close relationship with the wrestling legend.

The Hollywood star often spoke praises about Hulk Hogan’s professionalism, skill, and athleticism.

Stallone even inducted Hogan into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, which was a testament to their longstanding friendship.

The 79-year-old actor took to Facebook to pay tribute to the wrestling icon.

“I had the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old. He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky three incredibly special. My heart breaks. I think that he’s gone…”, Sylvester Stallone wrote.

“Hollywood” Hulk Hogan Was First Mentioned In 1989

Hulk Hogan’s “Hollywood” gimmick was first seen in WCW in 1996.

This was the time when he pursued his movie ambitions, often missing tapings due to his filming commitments.

Upon his return, his promos were centered around his Hollywood journey combined with his usual in-ring storyline.

However, the title was first used long before it became a moniker.

On an episode of “Superstars of Wrestling” in 1989, Bad News Brown delivered a scathing promo on Hulk Hogan, repeatedly calling him ‘Hollywood Hogan.’

Take a look at these eyes, “Hollywood Hogan!” Take a look at this face, “Hollywood Hogan!” This is the face that’s gonna destroy you, “Hollywood Hogan!” This is the face that’s gonna put you out of wrestling, “Hollywood Hogan!” This is the face that’s gonna take away that WWF belt from you, “Hollywood Hogan!” This is the face that’s gonna make all those “Hulkamanics” hate your guts!
