Swerve Strickland Makes Stunning AEW Return At Full Gear 2025
Tony Khan had a massive end planned for AEW Full Gear, and it was something that not many could’ve predicted. The final few moments of the show were extremely chaotic and involved multiple twists and turns.
Samoa Joe seemed down and out in his match for the AEW World Championship before the Opps came to his rescue. Hook, who has helped Page in the past against the Opps, turned in the final few seconds of the match and hit Page with the title belt to his face, allowing Joe to take advantage of the same.
He pinned Page to win the title for the second time in his AEW career but the night didn’t end there for the champion. Just when he was celebrating his win with the rest of the members of his stable, the lights went out in the entire area and Swerve Strickland made his return to the promotion after being missing for a long time.
First AEW appearance for Swerve Strickland since August
Swerve made his return on tonight’s edition of AEW Full Gear after being out with an injury since August 2025. He walked up to the ring and it seemed like he was about to join hands with Joe but that didn’t turn out to be the case.
Instead, he took out a couple members of the stable before dismantling the entire security team that Samoa Joe had hired. He would then be flanked by Hangman Adam Page who had recovered from his injuries by that point.

Swerve Strickland’s unexpected return sent the crowd into a frenzy and it seems like he has his eyes set on Samoa Joe and his World Title. Interestingly, he was also responsible for ending Samoa Joe’s first reign with the belt as well so this would be a rivalry to keep an eye on.
