Surprising Reason Why Ric Flair Can’t Appear For WWE

WWE Legend Recalls Awkward Moment During Ric Flair's Hall Of Fame Speech

Ric Flair would love to be at WrestleMania 41.

If John Cena beats Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania to claim the Undisputed WWE Championship he’ll make history. Not only will he become World Champion for the first time since 2017, but he’ll finally move past Ric Flair and become a 17-time World Champion.

It’s widely acknowledged that Flair won the World Championship perhaps upwards of 20 times in total, but WWE recognises the record as 16.

In the past, Flair has touted his daughter for the accolade of taking his record, but in recent years he’s also spoken positively of Cena.

Ric Flair Would Love To Be At WrestleMania

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Flair was asked whether he would be appearing at WrestleMania to potentially share a moment with Cena if he wins World Title number 17. In response, the veteran admitted that he wished he could be there, but unfortunately, he won’t be there.

“I wish I could say that I was, but I’m not, and I understand why, and I’m not mad about it by any means. Every time they talk about the title, my name gets mentioned. They keep me relevant. It’s very cool. John is a great guy. Cody is a great guy,”

Although didn’t name AEW, Flair said WWE wouldn’t want him there because he works for “another company.”

“I work for another company. I’m sure I would be more than welcome. Absolutely, if I wasn’t working with Tony, I would absolutely be there. They couldn’t keep me out of the building.”

While discussing the Undisputed WWE Championship more specifically, Ric Flair said Cody Rhodes should beat John Cena as he’s still got significant momentum. The 16-time World Champion added that he also believes Cena doesn’t want to end his career as champion because he’s the company guy.
