Surprise Star Makes Final Of WWE Title Tournament

Bron Breakker WWE Intercontinental Champion

The tournament final for a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Championship is now set and features one star never meant to be there.

Bron Breakker has proved to be hugely impressive since joining the WWE main roster. Breakker claimed the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam with a massive win over Sami Zayn indicating that Breakker is set to become one of Raw’s top stars in short order.

On Raw in Fort Lauderdale, Bron Breakker appeared in a backstage segment where he broke the news that the red brand’s General Manager Adam Pearce had created a tournament to find the next number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship.

That tournament kicked off on the 26th of August edition of Raw with two triple threat matches taking place. Jey Uso and Pete Dunne picked up the victories to advance to a fatal four-way match to take place on the 9th of September edition of Raw where the winner will get a shot at Breakker’s title.

Braun Strowman & Ilja Dragunov Win Big On WWE Raw

On Raw in Denver, the final two competitors in that match were revealed as two more triple threat matches took place but one suffered from a late change. Bronson Reed was pulled out of one bout only to be replaced by the man he splashed on a car roof the week prior, Braun Strowman.

Strowman overcame Ludwig Kaiser and Sheamus to advance with Sheamus again being attacked by Pete Dunne. The other triple threat match saw Dominik Mysterio abandon his chance at the gold as Damian Priest chased him off leaving Ilja Dragunov and Dragon Lee alone with Dragunov picking up the win.
