Another Stop On John Cena’s Retirement Tour Confirmed

WWE John Cena

John Cena will be front and centre as WWE heads to SummerSlam.

On August 2 and August 3, WWE will head to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for the first two-night SummerSlam in company history.

Although no announcements have been made, John Cena is expected to be on the show, and a new update has given another hint.

In a post on social media, the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, confirmed that Cena will be appearing on SmackDown the night before SummerSlam. It will be his first appearance at the venue in seven years.

“JUST ANNOUNCED: For the first time in 7 years, @WWE SmackDown returns to Newark the night before SummerSlam with nonstop action as John Cena continues “The Last Time is Now” tour along with the biggest WWE Superstars! Tickets on sale Fri., June 27 at 10am.”

John Cena Set For CM Punk Clash

Before SummerSlam rolls around, it’s been announced that John Cena will defend the Undisputed WWE Title against CM Punk at Night of Champions. The event is set to take place on June 28 in Saudi Arabia.

The match will mark the first time the veterans have met in singles action since February 2013.

It’s set to be a busy end to the month for Cena, who is due to face R-Truth on the June 20 edition of SmackDown. The rematch was eventually made after Truth made a shock return to WWE at Money In The Bank to take out the 17-time World Champion.
