Sting Names Surprising Highlight Of His 40-Year Career

Sting AEW

There have been many highlights in the iconic career of Sting, but one stands above all others to the man himself.

Sting has had a wrestling career like few others. The star had a decades-spanning feud with Ric Flair in the NWA and WCW, took to the rafters before doing battle with Hollywood Hogan and the NWO, and shared the ring with a whole new generation of stars in TNA.

A brief stint in WWE looked to have signalled the end of his career, but Tony Khan had other plans.

Sting made his debut for AEW in December 2020, forming an instant alliance with Darby Allin. Allin and Sting went undefeated as a tag team over the next four years before The Icon decided to call time on his career.

Sting and Allin were AEW Tag Team Champions heading into his final match at Revolution, where they defeated The Young Bucks to retain the gold and send the Stinger off into the sunset as a winner.

Before the bell rang for that emotional match, Sting was joined by his sons, Steven and Garrett, as part of his entrance, where they were dressed as different iterations of their father. And it seems it doesn’t get any better than that.

Sting’s Revolution Entrance Forever Etched In His Mind

Speaking to The Wrestling Classic, Sting explained how he felt about that entrance and why sharing the stage with his sons could be the highlight of his entire career:

It was exactly as I envisioned it being. It was like a dream, a surreal kind of a situation to actually witness it, even though I had pictured it happening exactly the way it did. But an amazing night. It’s just going to be etched in my mind forever. It’s probably the highlight of 40 years for me.
