The duo of Sting & Darby Allin surprised Chris Jericho with their announcement of their tag team partner at AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door.

It’s AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door later tonight in Toronto. One of the big matches on the show will see Chris Jericho teaming up with Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki against the team of Sting, Darby Allin, and a partner of their choosing.

While Chris Jericho demanded Sting & Allin tell him who their partner was on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday, the duo told Jericho he’ll find out on AEW Collision.

During the opening segment on AEW Collision, Tony Schiavone was going to interview Sting and Allin, but Jericho interrupted it. Jericho threatened to beat up Schiavone for not telling him who the partner was, but Schiavone claimed he had no idea.

Sting and Darby Allin eventually joined Jericho in the ring. They told the former AEW World Champion that their partner is somebody that Jericho knows well because he kicked Jericho’s ass at the Tokyo Dome.

That led to the entrance of former IWGP World Champion Tetsuya Naito, who got a huge ovation from the Collision crowd in Toronto.

The history between Naito and Jericho goes back about five years. They first met at NJPW Dominion 2018 in a match over the IWGP Intercontinental Title with Jericho getting the win. In the rematch at Wrestle Kingdom 13 in 2019 at the Tokyo Dome, Naito beat Jericho to regain the title.

Darby Allin teaming with the Stinger and Naito against Jericho, Suzuki and Guevara will be one of the fourteen matches (that includes the pre-show) at AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door.
