Steve Austin’s 1-Word Demand Of Current Wrestling Stars

Stone Cold Steve Austin Unveils The Wrestler Behind His Worst Beating

Stone Cold Steve Austin’s last wrestling match as an active performer was at WrestleMania XIX in 2003.

Despite being away from the squared circle all this time, he continues to remain a patron of WWE while serving as its ambassador.

Since retiring, Austin has made sporadic appearances, the latest occurring on Night 2 of WrestleMania 41, where he gained notoriety for crashing his ATV into the barricade.

He also fought Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in a No Holds Barred match, which he won after hitting Owens with a Stunner.

Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Advice To Young Wrestlers

Steve Austin recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet for his Insight podcast to discuss his wrestling journey and life beyond.

The modern-day wrestling is much different than what it used to be in 2003. The spots today usually feature high-speed, acrobatic moves, which also include a few no-sells, which are heavily frowned upon by many veterans.

When asked what advice he would give to the young wrestlers, Stone Cold Steve Austin suggested that they slow down, laying emphasis on the significance of selling moves.

Sell. As the business has changed and there’s more time to put together a match, don’t make it look like a dance. Not everything is perfect. Put some struggle in there. Put a little bit of slop in there when slop would be warranted.

You ever see Bret Hart deep in a match, maybe 20, 25 minutes and he’s just- he just looks like he’s beat to death.

He’s huffing, he’s puffing. He ain’t blown up. That’s him just showing how, fucking tired he is from just exhausting every hit, this look on his face, and he could go all night long, but that’s him just showing you how hard he, this is the toll that it’s taking on him. He’s showing you.

So it’s not always such a dance. Everything is just a little- I would love for someone to feel dangerous right now. You know, ‘dang, this guy’s got an edge or this guy’s- I don’t know.’

I might believe this guy, something like that. But to go back to answer your question, sell, learn how to work, learn how to work. Don’t learn how to act. I just, I think there’s a difference between working and acting. [H/T: Fightful]
