Steve Austin Praises Part-Time WWE Star “He’s Very Entertaining”
The legendary “Stone Cold” Steve Austin had some good things to say about a WWE part-timer, especially how he takes a Stunner.
When it comes to entertainment in pro wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin knows a lot about that. After all, Stone Cold was known for his legendary promo ability, the Austin 3:16 t-shirt that is an all-time great seller, introducing “what” to the wrestling world and of course having a lot of memorable matches/segments that live on decades later.
At WrestleMania 38 last year, Steve Austin competed in his first WWE match in 19 years when he beat Kevin Owens in the WrestleMania Saturday main event.
On WrestleMania Sunday, Austin appeared again to give Vince McMahon one more Stone Cold Stunner. Others also received like Austin Theory and Pat McAfee, both of whom sold it really well.
In an interview with TMZ Sports, Steve Austin was asked about where he would rank McAfee in terms of how well he sold the Stunner. Austin would go on to praise the former Smackdown commentator who is now a part-time WWE star.
“Man, top three. I got to say top three because I mean, you know, The Rock is number one. The way he oversold and Scott Hall and some of the other guys that took it. I mean the way…Pat has a natural feel for the business. Epic performer. Great on the stick. Athletically you know that that match he had with Theory was awesome.”
“And then the kicker was not only the sell of a Stunner, but I don’t know if I threw him out or he ended up out of the ring but to lay there selling, still guzzling the beer, the presence of mind to ad lib and improvise it like this is a moment without even thinking about it. I think he’s amazing. He’s very entertaining, and as a human being, I like him a whole lot.”
