Steve Austin Updates Fans After Undergoing Surgery
Things are looking up for Steve Austin.
Earlier in January, Steve Austin announced he’d undergone major knee surgery. In a post on social media, the veteran broke down the specifics of the procedure, explaining he’d had a complete knee replacement on his left knee.
The star said he’d been putting off the surgery for years and had already pushed too hard too soon as he began rehabilitation.
In October, Austin said the problems with his knee actually began while he was playing football in college, long before he stepped into a wrestling ring. However, thousands of matches around the world hadn’t helped the condition of the joint either.
Steve Austin Is Taking Things One Day At A Time
In a post on Instagram, Austin shared that he’s back in the gym and will be ending his controlled physical therapy soon. The WWE legend added that he faces a long road back to full fitness, but he’s taking it a day at a time.
The road back to Offroad Racing.
No, it doesn’t make a sh*t of difference how much you can lift in a race. And I’m still as weak a a kitten. But pushing weights in the gym is a shitload better than sitting indoors all day with your leg propped up in the air.
I am not training legs yet, and I am getting close to being released from physical therapy. Then I will continue rehab on my own. Long way to go still. And I am looking to be as solid as I can be for the Mint 400 Race.
I need more seat time in my KRX1000, for sure.
One day at a time.
There had been reports Steve Austin would appear on the January 6 edition of Raw. However, talks between Austin and WWE “fell apart,” meaning the show came and went without him. The star has previously hinted he could be involved at WrestleMania 41, although he ruled out wrestling again.
Austin hasn’t wrestled since beating Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38, and that match was his first since initially retiring in 2003.
