Steve Austin Attack Left WWE Hall Of Famer Fearing Jail
One WWE Hall of Famer has admitted they feared being thrown in jail after a Stone Cold Steve Austin segment live on Raw.
Stone Cold Steve Austin’s WWE in-ring career came to an end in 2003 but over the two decades since then, the Texas Rattlesnake has made his presence felt in the company on several occasions.
In 2004, Steve Austin was the special referee for the infamous Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg match at WrestleMania 20 and he reprised his role as an official three years later for Bobby Lashley vs. Umaga in the Battle of the Billionaires match.
Austin was back in the stripes in 2011 for one of the worst matches in WrestleMania history as Jerry Lawler battled Michael Cole. But that wasn’t Cole’s plan. On Raw in the lead-up to the bout, Michael Cole introduced JBL as the special referee for that bout but after a bombastic speech by the former WWE Champion, he finally went to sign his name on the dotted line to make things official when Steve Austin struck.
JBL Feared The Worst After Steve Austin Beer Bath
Austin wiped out JBL with a stunner before pouring beer all over him and signing his own name on the dotted line. However, the situation left JBL with serious concerns about his ride home.
Speaking on What Were They Thinking? JBL feared being pulled over and spending the night in jail for smelling severely of alcohol while at the wheel thanks to Austin’s antics:
One time, Stone Cold was making a return or something at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, and I drove up from Texas… So, I come out, and Steve stuns me and pours beer on me. Well, I had to drive home that night, and I’m sitting there thinking, ‘You know, one of these small-town local cops could pull me over this reek of beer. I’m going to jail if they stop me.’
