Stephanie McMahon Refused WWE Star’s Bizarre Pitch
There’s not much WWE hasn’t done over the years, but selling fans something that doesn’t exist was where Stephanie McMahon drew the line.
WWE stars travel all over the United States and the world, bringing sports entertainment to the masses. So it’s little wonder that they might not always be on top of exactly where they are on any given week. In 2011, R-Truth famously asked fans on Raw, “Green Bay, Wisconsin, what’s up?” Despite the show actually taking place in Milwaukee. And just like that, a whole new side of the star came to light that’s still entertaining fans 14 years later.
For over a decade, R-Truth has portrayed a confused klutz who can never get things quite right. He thinks DIY are Shawn Michaels and Triple H, that he was a part of Judgment Day despite never being asked, and also waited to be tagged into a Royal Rumble match. But perhaps, R-Truth’s most famous confusion saw him create his imaginary friend Little Jimmy.
And despite Jimmy not actually existing, that doesn’t mean R-Truth didn’t want to cash in, proving that he might be smarter than everyone thinks after all.
Stephanie McMahon Turned Down R-Truth Pitch
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, R-Truth revealed that he’d pitched a Little Jimmy action figure to Stephanie McMahon, but selling a figure that didn’t actually exist was too much for her:
I asked Stephanie McMahon, ‘Could I make a Little Jimmy action figure?’ She said, ‘What’s it gonna be?’ I said, ‘Nothing, but it’ll be in the box.’ She’s like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ She laughs. She said, ‘Truth, I don’t think we can do that. We’ve got to give them something.’
I said, ‘Well, I guess put a stick beside them or something. They got the package’. She said, ‘No, we can’t do that.’
Stephanie McMahon is fronting a new WWE-produced podcast, which will kick off with UFC President Dana White as McMahon’s guest.
