Stephanie McMahon Suffered Bad Injury During Wrestling Training

Stephanie McMahon began her WWE career in 1998, initially working behind the scenes as an account executive and modeling merchandise. She made her first on-screen appearance in November 1998.

In 2000, she started her in-ring journey and wrestled quite a few matches until 2003. She then transitioned back into a non-wrestling role until she had to step back inside the ring in 2014 for a couple of matches. Arguably, her most popular match to date is her tag team match with her husband, Triple H, where they faced Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34 in 2018.

Speaking with Tyrese Haliburton on her What’s Your Story? podcast, Stephenie revealed that her father, Vince McMahon, and her brother Shane McMahon were against her wrestling as they were concerned about her sustaining a serious injury. But somehow she convinced them to let her wrestle, as she wanted to do it very badly. But when she started training, she injured herself, dislocating her shoulder.

I separated my shoulder during training, learning. Trying to learn how to do top wrist lock on someone’s shoulders where you, like, flip them down, and it wasn’t a good scene. And I didn’t tuck right, and I, like, drilled my shoulder right into the mat. I mean, that was in training, so that was not, like, the craziest spot in a match, (From 3:50)

On September 20, The Undertaker made a surprise appearance at WWE’s inaugural Wrestlepalooza event and announced that Stephanie McMahon will be the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026 next year. Triple H, in an interview, revealed that she had no idea about this and was under the impression that Taker was at the event only to wish her happy birthday in advance.
