Son Of WWE Hall Of Famer To Launch Wrestling Career
Could another second-generation star be on their way to WWE?
When you’re the son of a WWE Hall Of Famer, you’re going to be linked with life in the squared circle whether you like it or not, but in this case, it seems there’s more to the story than just idle speculation.
Although Brock Rechsteiner is currently flying high as a football star for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, it seems the family business awaits. During the Cure Bowl against the Ohio Bobcats, Rechsteiner made a 27-yard catch as his famous father Scott Steiner was being interviewed by ESPN on the touchline.
During the interview, Steiner confirmed that his son is planning to launch a career in wrestling when he finishes playing football.
“Yeah, that’s the plan. That’s what he wants to do so whatever makes him happy.”
Although the Gamecocks lost the game 30-27, Rechsteiner finished his season with 16 catches for 241 yards and two touchdowns.
WWE Star Tips Rechsteiner For Success
Bron Breakker was also on hand to give his thoughts on his cousin’s progress, commenting that he’s going to “take to wrestling very well.”
“I think football and amateur wrestling are probably the top two sports that translate into what we do,” Breakker explained. “It’s in the family blood, family business. I think he’s gonna take to it very well, I’m excited for him.”
Breakker also played football in his youth while competing in amateur wrestling in high school. The star later played for the Kennesaw State Owls before going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. Despite this, Breakker was picked up by the Baltimore Ravens but was cut after four months.
In February 2021, the second-generation star signed with WWE and it wasn’t long before excitement was running wild about his potential. Since then, Breakker has become a two-time NXT Champion and two-time NXT Tag Team Champion and he’s currently enjoying his second run with the Intercontinental Title.
It’s long been rumoured that Bron Breakker will eventually link up with Paul Heyman who has taken a keen interest in the star’s progress.
