Son Of WWE Legend Signs With Company

WWE Hall Of Famer Recalls How They Broke The Ring During A PPV

WWE has just gained another second-generation Superstar.

Going back decades professional wrestling has been a family business. From the likes of the Funks, Briscos, and Von Erich’s dominating the industry through the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, to second-generation Superstars such as Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and Charlotte Flair standing tall in WWE today, wrestling families have long been the backbone of the business.

So perhaps it’s little surprise to see the son of a former World Champion and Hall of Famer no less, decide to step into the squared circle.

Jacob Henry — son of Mark Henry, has announced he’s officially signed with WWE.

Henry has enjoyed a fine athletic career to date, competing in football, wrestling, and track and field while at Lake Travis High School. Meanwhile, in more recent times, he’s committed to wrestling for the University of Oklahoma.

Jacob Wants To Headline WWE WrestleMania

In an interview with TMZ Sports in July, Mark Henry revealed that his son’s true passion had always been pro wrestling, and he wanted to headline WrestleMania.

“His true passion is pro wrestling. He’s not trying to be an Olympic champion in wrestling. He said, ‘I don’t want to go to the Pro Bowl or win a Super Bowl. I want to main event WrestleMania and go to Japan and be a champion.’

I’m like, ‘Bro, those are hefty goals.’ But I tell you what, if your goals don’t scare you, then you’re playing it safe. You’re not going to make it unless you have high, high dreams.”

There’s no word on Henry’s immediate plans, and whether he will finish up his collegiate career before starting with WWE.

Since leaving AEW, Mark Henry has begun working as a booker and director for All Caribbean Wrestling.
