A SmackDown star has confirmed that they will be out of action for several weeks after they suffered a serious hand injury.
Shotzi had been scheduled to face Shayna Baszler on SmackDown in Pittsburgh but that match was put on ice as a result of Baszler and SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey attacking Shotzi in the parking lot. The pair closed a car door on Shotzi’s hand while a camera crew were filming an interview with Legado del Fantasma nearby and caught the aftermath.
Shotzi has now taken to social media to show off an x-ray of her broken hand and indicated how long she will be out of action as she captioned the post “6weeks” while tagging her assailants.

Since Shotzi could not compete on SmackDown, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey teamed up to face Liv Morgan and Tegan Nox instead. Nox and Morgan picked up the unlikely victory with Raquel Rodriguez causing a distraction to assist them.
Ronda Rousey recently explained why she was “bummed” after her Survivor Series match with Shotzi was cut for time and says she didn’t have the match the two women set out to have:
“I really wanted to showcase her sh*t and make all of her sh*t look great and show everybody how great she is and that’s one of the main reasons I wanted to come back for this run is to showcase new talent and show people… And show everybody how great Liv [Morgan] is and Shotzi is and Raquel [Rodriguez] and Shayna [Baszler] and showcase all these women that haven’t been getting the attention that I think that they deserve and I failed.”
“But that wasn’t the match. That was the beginning of the match and I’m kind of bummed we’re getting judged from not really what we put together.”
