Signs Missing AEW Star Nearing Return

An injured AEW star could be back in the fold.

After turning his back on long-time friend Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta joined the Don Callis Family. It appeared as though Callis initially wanted to recruit Cassidy, but this was quickly proven to be a ruse, as Beretta attacked Cassidy.

This beating came after Cassidy had beaten his former friend at Double or Nothing 2024.

However, Beretta’s momentum was brought to a halt in July when he was written off television after Cassidy left him beaten and broken with a wrench. A month later Beretta underwent neck surgery to repair two broken screws which had been damaged in the ring following an earlier neck fusion surgery.

Trent Beretta Makes AEW Visit

As reported by Fightful Select, Beretta has been backstage at recent AEW shows, although no reason was given as to why. It’s unclear whether the star was working backstage in some capacity or visiting friends.

In January, Kenny Omega made his long-awaited return to the ring after missing the entirety of 2024 after being diagnosed with diverticulitis. Now back in the fold, it’s been announced that Omega will team with Will Osperay to face Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher of the Don Callis Family at Grand Slam: Australia.

Ahead of that match, Ospreay took on and defeated the newest member of the faction, Mark Davis, on February 5.
