Significant Interest From WWE In Missing AEW Star

Powerhouse Hobbs Ricky Starks AEW

As the future of one missing AEW star continues to fuel rumours it seems WWE is very interested in bringing them in.

Ricky Starks hasn’t wrestled in AEW since teaming with Big Bill to take on Top Flight on the March 30th edition of Collision. At the time there were rumours Starks had suffered an injury, but he’s repeatedly denied that this is the case.

It had been reported that Starks turned down an angle involving Bill that would have seen the former AEW Tag Team Champions split and he’s been kept off television since.

Although Tony Khan has claimed in interviews that he’d like to use the star, elsewhere, Ricky Starks expressed frustration with his situation, admitting he has “no clue” when he’ll be called upon again.

All of this and Ricky Starks’ relationship with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has led many to believe that Starks could follow in the footsteps of Rhodes when his AEW deal expires – and it seems WWE wants to make that happen.

WWE Wants AEW’s Ricky Starks

Fightful Select has now reported that sources within WWE NXT have made clear that they have significant interest in bringing in Ricky Starks once he is available.

AEW is also poised to lose former tag team champions The Lucha Bros in the very near future. Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo have been All Elite since 2019, but it seems it’s time for a change. The real-life brothers are said to be working on joining WWE as a “package deal,” BUT they have no interest in working in NXT.
