Shocking Finish Was Pitched For 2025 WWE Royal Rumble
The bizarre finish that was pitched in WWE that would see one star win the Royal Rumble without doing a thing has been revealed.
The 2025 Royal Rumble saw Jey Uso win the men’s Rumble match, leading to him going on to capture the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. The event also saw Charlotte Flair return to the ring for the first time in well over a year as she became the first woman in history to win the Rumble match on two occasions.
However, that could have played out very differently.
Chelsea Green Pitched To Win WWE Royal Rumble
The new Netflix series WWE: Unreal is taking fans behind the scenes and into the writer’s room to reveal what really goes on in the company. One clip from the series saw Ed Koskey, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Creative Writing, pitch the idea that Chelsea Green would win the Rumble by virtue of being the 30th entrant into the match after the last two competitors left eliminate each other:
You’ve got entrant 29 in there. They come in and there are two women left, and they end up doing a double elimination. So, whoever is number 30 automatically wins. Chelsea Green walks down, does this [arms stretched out gesture], and wins the Royal Rumble.

Chelsea Green was instead the number five entrant into the match, and she lasted over 26 minutes before she was unwittingly eliminated by her Secret Hervice agent Piper Niven.
