Shinsuke Nakamura “Could Be Champion” According To WWE Personality
Despite insinuations that Vince McMahon overlooked Shinsuke Nakamura as a top guy, a WWE personality now feels the time could be right for him to win the big one.
Having come under the WWE following much hype and make it to the top of NXT, the transition to the main roster has not been as smooth as many would have expected for Shinsuke Nakamura. Apart from winning the 2018 Royal Rumble, there have been limited opportunities for the former three-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion has found opportunities to get to the top of the tree limited.
In a recent discussion on his Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Live Events The Road Dogg has opened up on the opportunities Shinsuke Nakamura was given by Vince McMahon.
Look I think he [Vince McMahon] gave Nakamura opportunity after opportunity. I think Vince sees that you don’t have to see Nakamura perform too many times before you see what everybody else sees.
Continuing on, The Road Dogg speculated as to why McMahon may not have seen Nakamura as the right person for the top, but that things may be different now we are a few years further down the line.
I don’t think he [Vince] was blind to that or denied him of that, and I think he gave him a bunch of opportunities. Now look I think the argument can be made that, ‘Can he, could he be a top guy?’ [potentially due to the language barrier]. I think now, what are we, five years ahead of that? And look, the world’s changed. I think he could totally be the champion.
