Shelly Martinez Reveals Truth About Hooking Up With Ex-WWE Star

Shelly Martinez was rumored to have a romantic relationship with a 48-year-old former WWE Superstar.

Martinez signed her first developmental contract with the Stamford-based company two decades ago. After spending two years in OVW, the 45-year-old debuted on ECW, playing the character of Ariel, a tarot reader and fortune teller.

The former superstar was paired on TV with Kevin Thorn, who played a vampire character. As they worked together on TV, rumors suggested Martinez and Thorn were also an item off camera.

In a recent interview with The Velvet Ropes, Martinez addressed these speculations, denying that she and her on-screen partner ever hooked up in real life.

Everyone and their mom thought we hooked up, and that’s just like, so not the truth… Kevin and I had a very brother-sister kind of vibe… when he pulls me into him [in the ring], I’m talking sh*t to him… ‘You’re an a**hole’… He never tried to creep out on me. He never tried to be weird… He knew we were there to make money together.

Shelly Martinez Reveals Cancelled Plans For WWE Faction

During the same interview with The Velvet Ropes, Shelly Martinez discussed WWE’s plans to form a “New Brood” faction in ECW.

The former WWE Superstar disclosed that Tommy Dreamer informed her that she, Kevin Thorn, Jimmy Wang Yang, and Gangrel were supposed to be the members of the new faction. Gangrel had previously been part of the original Brood, alongside Edge and Christian. The plans for the “New Brood” stable, however, were scrapped after all suggested members, except Martinez, were released.

Tommy Dreamer told me: ‘We’re going to make a new Brood with Gangrel, me, Jimmy Wang Yang, and Kevin Seven.’ And so I was excited. And then when I got there, Jimmy Wang Yang, Kevin Seven, and Gangrel all got released. And so I was like, ‘This is not gonna happen.’
