Sheamus Tips NXT Star For Big Things After “Testing” Them In Recent Match

Sheamus WWE

Sheamus thinks one of NXT’s most popular stars has a huge future.

Back in January, Sheamus broke down just how much he loves hitting people in the ring. And not just hitting them, hitting them seriously hard.

The veteran Irishman has earned a reputation as arguably the most physical performer in WWE today, and it’s not a reputation he takes lightly. However, he expects that whoever is standing across the ring from him should bring the same level of intensity.

As noted by the man himself, this makes him something of a great measuring stick for young talent. When a young prospect is in the ring with Sheamus, they might get hit hard, but they’re also going to learn something.

Sheamus Full Of Praise For “Awesome” NXT Star

One such rising star who recently had the pleasure of sharing the ring with Sheamus at a recent live event is Je’Von Evans. The young high-flyer is tipped by many to go right to the top, and on November 17, he’ll face Gunther at the world-famous Madison Square Garden.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Sheamus reflected on that match with Evans and broke down why he thinks he’s a star of the future.

“I got to work, I wrestled Je’von on Thursday. The kid’s awesome man, he’s awesome.

He did great, I tested him for sure. I brought it to him and he brought it back. He was pretty physical, he’s put a bit of meat on as well since I first seen him.

The thing about Je’von is he’s been a wrestling fan his whole life, he told me after we had the match, he said ‘this has been a dream for me, you don’t understand, you were the first thing I saw when you were 5 years old, you were wrestling’. I was like you’re making me feel old, what was it? ‘When Triple H Pedigreed you through a table’.

But he’s great, not only can he do athletic things, he looks like he’s bouncing on the moon, he’s got anti gravity boots on. He took a beating and gave it back, and you can see he’s just so excited to be there. He’s 21 years old, incredible.

He’s put some muscle on, bulked up a bit, and it hasn’t effected his athleticism or the stuff he does. Also he’s always smiling, he’s just so happy to be there. He’s got a match with Gunther on Monday, and I’m excited for him.”

Ahead of his showdown with Gunther, Je’Von Evans admitted that he’s nervous to face the former World Champion, but above all else, he’s ready to fight. Keenly aware of what the match represents and the opportunity it provides, Evans said he’s ready to show the world just what he can do.
