Sheamus’ Replacement In John Cena’s Tournament Announced On WWE SmackDown
WWE was dealt a major blow earlier this week when it was revealed that four-time World Champion Sheamus had been ruled out of the ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament due to a shoulder injury.
The Celtic Warrior had already advanced to the second round of the tournament after beating Shinsuke Nakamura in the first round. He was set to face LA Knight in the next round, who will now face another mystery opponent.
Sheamus had been one of the fan favorites throughout the tournament, and many fans expected him to win the tournament and defeat Cena to finally win the Intercontinental Championship in the Never Seen 17’s last WWE match.
Former WWE Champion replaces Sheamus
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was all set to announce who he would select as Sheamus’ replacement before he was interrupted by The Miz. He had already lost in the last round to Jey Uso, who moved to the semi-finals tonight.
R-Truth also looked to place himself in the tournament and distracted Aldis long enough for Miz to slot in his name in the ball that Aldis had drawn from the lot, and The Miz was announced as Sheamus’ replacement.

He will now face LA Knight later in the night and look to advance in the tournament on his second try. However, it will be a tough ask as LA Knight already has experience of beating a mystery opponent, as he defeated another mystery opponent, Zack Ryder, to reach this round.
