Rolling Around With Shawn Michaels Would Make This WWE Star’s Dreams Come True

A WWE wrestler wishes they had wrestled Shawn Michaels.

Michaels retired after WrestleMania 26 in 2010. But AJ Styles arrived in WWE in 2016, six years later, after Michaels retired. Therefore, the two could never lock horns.

Styles recently had an interview with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, where the idea of facing Shawn Michaels in a match was brought up. Reacting to it, Styles commented that it might actually happen one day, when no one is watching.

“You never know. One day, we might be rolling around with no one watching it. That would be enough for me.”

Styles added that one of the greatest regrets of his wrestling career is not getting the opportunity to face HBK in a match. He stated a duel with Michaels would’ve been “priceless” because he would’ve learned a lot.

“The thing that I regret the most about not being able to get in the ring with Shawn Michaels is the opportunity to learn from him. That would have been priceless. It just wasn’t meant to be.

Styles added that he’s hopeful that he’ll get to work with Michaels in the future in some capacity.

Hopefully we’ll get the opportunity to work together in some capacity, whether it’s developing talent or just helping the brand get better altogether.” H/T Undisputed

Shawn Michaels Is Down To Face AJ Styles In One Last Match

In September 2025, Shawn Michaels had an interview with Gorilla Position, where he was asked if he would like to wrestle one last WrestleMania match. If yes, who would it be against? He chose AJ Styles.

“I think the one we really want to see is me and AJ. That’s [who] I go with. [As] more talent comes along, you start looking at them. I go, ‘Oh, boy! I could do cool stuff with him, I could do cool stuff with him.’ But I think AJ and I [have] similar styles and stuff like that, so I always feel like that would be one people would want to see.”
