Shawn Michaels has brought a surprise Japanese star over to NXT.

In January 2023, Shinsuke Nakamura faced The Great Muta at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s New Year event. The bout was Keiji Mutoh’s last singles match as his masked alter-ego. It also kicked off a new partnership between WWE and NOAH which has also seen AJ Styles taking on the legendary Naomichi Marufuji in Tokyo’s famed Nippon Budokan.

Now, Shawn Michaels has announced that one of NOAH’s stars is heading over to NXT. HBK revealed on social media that Yoshiki Inamura had been to the Performance Centre to train with some of the talent there. While it’s unclear if Inamura will be seen on NXT TV, Michaels said he would be “a problem for anyone he steps in the ring with.”

“I’m excited to welcome @noah_ghc Wrestler @noah_yoshiki to #WWENXT. This hard-hitting young man is going to be a problem for anyone he steps in the ring with. I look forward to growing NXT’s partnership with @noahglobal in the future. #WWENXT”

Yoshiki Inamura signed with Pro Wrestling NOAH in 2018. Since there, he has regularly featured in the annual N-1 Victory Tournament and has teamed up with the likes of Mutoh and Marufuji. Recently, Inamura has also been seen competing in Progress and WXW.
