Shawn Michaels Teases More Surprises In WWE NXT

Shawn Michaels is predicting big things for NXT.

The May 28th episode of NXT played host to two major surprises, including an appearance from a champion in another company — something unthinkable during the Vince McMahon era.

Surprise number one saw Jordynne Grace confront Roxanne Perez. The current TNA Knockouts Champion will now challenge Perez for the NXT Women’s Title at Battleground on June 9th. It’s been reported Grace is being paid a cool six figures for three appearances, including her NXT debut and match with Perez.

Later in the night, Ethan Page made his WWE debut with a vicious attack on Trick Williams. Page left AEW earlier in May having found screen time hard to come by.

The appearance from Grace in particular has caught fans’ attention as it’s been reported this might only be the start of a crossover between WWE and TNA.

Speaking in a new interview with KTNV Channel 13 Las Vegas, NXT boss Shawn Michaels said more “exciting announcements” are on the way.

“Well look, obviously a lot of those decisions get made by people above me. But look, I have no doubt that there’s gonna be some very exciting announcements coming down the pipe, let’s put it that way. I will say this, again, it comes back to wanting to entertain the people that do this and you just said it, for fans, we have wanted A, B, and C for so long. I don’t know.

I guess with those of us that get to do this behind the scenes, those are things that we’ve wanted to see, why not see if we can bring you guys one of these things you’ve been looking for.

Obviously a very exciting time to be a wrestling fan and we’ll see how much of it culminates Battleground on June 9, I’m sure a lot of things are going to be going on that night, so I wouldn’t miss it.”

Shawn Michaels’ Jealousy Led To NXT Shock

During a different interview, Shawn Michaels said he was jealous of Triple H after he got to work with Jordynne Grace at the Royal Rumble. HBK added that The Game owed him one, and he was delighted to be able to use the star in NXT.

I have been very public about being a fan of Jordynne Grace. I expressed to Hunter [Triple H] privately that I was very jealous that he had her for the Rumble. He owed me.

There have been suggestions that NXT stars will appear at TNA Against All Odds and even Slammiversary.
