Shawn Michaels On Plans For Eddie Guerrero Match

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has seemed to confirm plans were in the works for him to clash with the late, great Eddie Guerrero.

Shawn Michaels has shared a wrestling ring with some of the all-time greats of the wrestling world during his two spells in WWE. From the likes of Mr. Perfect, Bret Hart, The Undertaker, Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Mick Foley, and Kurt Angle, The Heartbreak Kid’s career reads like a who’s who of wrestling greats.

One star Shawn Michaels never got to share the ring with however was former WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero. It has long been suggested that Michaels and Guerrero would have faced each other at WrestleMania 22 in 2006 but Latino Heat sadly passed away in November 2005.

Speaking on the media call for NXT Halloween Havoc, Shawn Michaels confirmed plans may have been in place for a match after it was floated as an idea at a creative meeting:

“I’ve heard somebody pitched it at a creative meeting. It would’ve been a blast to do. Where we were at later on in our careers, we probably would’ve argued about who was putting who over. Neither one of us would’ve had a problem, that’s for sure. It would be my honor to put Eddie Guerrero over.”

Incidentally, the closest Michaels and Guerrero ever got to sharing the ring was at the 2005 Royal Rumble. Guerrero was eliminated by Edge just seconds before Shawn Michaels officially entered the match.
